Pop Up & Pop Down
Thank you to everyone who joined me for my first very own exclusive pop-up supper club a few weeks ago – what an amazing evening! I was so touched by the response…
As soon as my friend Racheal showed me her tucked-away space some months ago – back when I still had my little café on Loughborough Road – I knew I had to host an event there.
Hidden behind brown shutters and with stripped-back white flooring, Racheal’s taste in design, her choice of lighting and the special pieces of furniture she’s chosen all come together to make the perfect stylish supper-club hideaway.
It was the ideal location for my first relaxed-but-special evening of Baked Salt style and seasonal food.
It was such a buzz hearing the guests’ little gasps of surprise and delight as they came through the doors into our secret space, welcomed with glasses of fizz and then my specially crafted seasonal menu:
The Baked Salt Spring Supper Club Menu
- Leek arancini rubbed with urfa chilli, served with a mint and peashoot salad
- Slow roasted shoulder of lamb with slaw spring salad and herby cracked wheat
- Santiago tart made with hazlenut and coconut, wild honey and frozen goats yoghurt
It was really lovely to see some familiar faces from the café days (and beyond), as well as some new ones too. The place was filled with such a wonderfully atmospheric and sociable din as everyone chatted together, making new friends over food and wine…
I’ll definitely be planning some more pop-up supper clubs in the future, so do come along to the next one!
If you sign up to my mailing list, I’ll be able to let you know when I’ve fixed more dates…
Now that my first pop-up is under my belt, I’m getting very excited at all the other projects that have been brewing away on the side-lines.
One of which is a future collaboration with my good friend and Wellness Guru, Yvonne Wake and her amazing Detox Health retreats in the idyllic South West of France, where I hope to be popping-up in the kitchen some time soon.
Yvonne’s incredible healing retreats are the ultimate calming fortnight of rejuvenation and relaxation – with yoga, massage, walks in nature, lots of rest, and heaps of fun – alongside a nourishing organic plant-based menu.
The next Detox Health Retreat is in May/June – with more running in September – and the ever-generous Yvonne has very kindly offered all friends of Baked Salt a 15% discount off booking.
So, take a look at the Detox Health Retreat info, and if it sounds like something for you, drop me an email and I’ll give you the secret booking code…
I also have some other exciting irons in the fire, which hopefully I’ll be able to spill the beans on very soon… so watch this space!
And if you’re not already signed up, join my mailing list to hear the latest news first.
Don’t forget – if you ever want some catering advice, a quote or just a foodie chat – drop me an email, or give me a ring. I’d love to hear from you.
Until next time…
